Who we are

Established in 2012, Lunar Environmental are an independent ecological consultancy based in north east Scotland. We cover Aberdeenshire, Moray, Angus and Highlands. 

 

Our wealth of experience and skills allows us to offer a range of ecological services to a broad client base.

 

We provide high quality ecological surveys and environmental assessments, identify constraints and opportunities, and recommend practical solutions. We pride ourselves in producing clear and concise reports that meet the needs of the Regulators.

 

Kevin Wright Lunar Environmental

Kevin Wright

Principal Ecologist

Kevin has 22 years' experience working in the fields of ecology and land management. In this time he has spent 13 years supporting local authority planning departments assessing the ecological and environmental aspects of planning application submissions.

 

This gives him an in-depth knowledge of the planning system and a unique insight into Regulator requirements, how to present findings, and the ability to negotiate and resolve any conflict.

 

He has a wealth of ecological survey experience and has been undertaking environmental assessments and protected species surveys for 15 years.

 

He has a degree in Sustainable Environmental Management and holds survey licenses for bats and freshwater pearl mussels. He is also an NPTC qualified tree climber, which enables him to undertake aerial bat surveys. He has diverse ecological and natural heritage interests and is always interested in hearing from clients with challenging survey requirements.

Emily Hastings Lunar Environmental

Emily Hastings

Consultant/Project Manager

Emily has 15 years' experience working in environmental research and project management. In this time she worked for the James Hutton Institute as a research scientist and spent eight years working as a project manager for the Centre of Expertise for Waters, providing scientific advice to shape Government policy and Regulator practice.

This gives her a comprehensive understanding of UK environmental policy and its implementation, keeping us abreast of current policy requirements and best practice. 

 

She has a wealth of experience in managing multiple projects across a diverse portfolio, which ensures your project is delivered to specification and on time.

She has a degree in Marine and Coastal Resource Management, has advanced training in Environmental Impact Assessment and has been undertaking ecological surveys for nine years.
